Naród Wybrany został wezwany, aby być sługą Jahwe i objawiać Jego
chwałę. Nie okazał się jednak wierny, dlatego Pan Bóg powołał innego
sługę, który miał zanieść zbawienie całemu światu. Święty Paweł
powie nam dzisiaj, że zjednoczenie rozproszonych dzieci Bożych i ich
uświęcenie dokonuje się w Chrystusie. Zawołanie Jana Chrzciciela:
„Ujrzałem Ducha, który zstępował z nieba jak gołębica i spoczął na
Nim” nabiera wielkiego znaczenia w kontekście oskarżania Jezusa
przez Żydów o to, że przypisuje On sobie godność Syna Bożego.
Celem tych słów jest potwierdzenie tożsamości Jezusa jako Syna
Bożego, a także ogłoszenie światu, że właśnie nadszedł zapowiadany
Zbawiciel.
Przyjmijmy teraz z wiarą słowo Boże, abyśmy mogli stawać się
światłem dla tych, którzy są jeszcze daleko od Chrystusa.

Historycznym tłem dzisiejszej opowieści proroka Izajasza jest najazd
Asyryjczyków na ziemie Izraela. Mroczny obraz nędzy i ucisku
zaczyna kontrastować z radosną zapowiedzią nowej epoki pod
panowaniem mesjańskiego króla. Izajasz posługuje się w tym celu
symbolem światła. „Naród kroczący w ciemnościach ujrzał światłość
wielką”. Spełnienie tego proroctwa ewangelista Mateusz widzi w
działalności Pana Jezusa w Galilei oraz Jego osiedleniu się w
Kafarnaum. W Nowym Testamencie światło utożsamiane jest z
królestwem Bożym objawionym w osobie, słowach i czynach Pana
Jezusa, który przyszedł zbawić ludzi wszystkich pokoleń i narodów.
Kościół założony przez Pana Jezusa jest jeden, dlatego Święty Paweł
ubolewa nad powrotem ochrzczonych do ciemności i wzywa, aby
wśród chrześcijan nie było rozłamów.
Wysłuchajmy z wiarą słowa Bożego, które wzywa nas do jedności i
wierności.

Prorok Sofoniasz wzywa Naród Wybrany do opamiętania i

The Chosen People are called to be servants of Yahweh and manifest
His glory. They turned out to be unfaithful; therefore the Lord God
called another servant, who was to carry the salvation of the whole
world. St. Paul tells us today that the unification of the scattered
children of God and their sanctification is done through Christ. The
call of John the Baptist: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as
a dove and remain on him" takes on a great importance in the
context of the prosecution of Jesus by the Jews for assigning himself
the dignity of the Son of God. The purpose of these words is to
confirm the identity of Jesus as the Son of God, as well as the
announcement to the world that the proclaimed Savior had come.
Let us now with faith accept the word of God, so that we can become
light for those who are still far from Christ.

January 22, 2017; 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
The historical background of today's story of the prophet Isaiah is
the Assyrian invasion of the lands of Israel. The dark image of
misery and oppression begins the contrast with the joyful
announcement of the new era under the rule of the Messianic King.
For this purpose, Isaiah uses a symbol of light. "The people walking
in darkness have seen a great light." The evangelist Matthew sees
the fulfillment of this prophecy in the activity of Jesus in Galilee, and
his settling down in Capernaum. In the New Testament, the light is
identified with the kingdom of God revealed in the person, words,
and deeds of Jesus, who came to save people of all generations and
nations. The Church founded by Jesus Christ is the only one, which
is why Saint Paul laments over the return of the baptized back into
the darkness and urges that among Christians there be no division.
Let us with faith hear the word of God that calls us to unity and
fidelity.

January 29 2017; 4th Sunday in Ordinary Time
The prophet Zephaniah calls the Chosen People to repentance and
conversion. Only an attitude of repentance can help save the people
from punishment. The hope for the grace of God's mercy was born
the earth in Israel, who remained faithful to God. Therefore, in the
face of widespread moral decline, the prophet directs a special call
to them to persevere in zeal and fidelity, because it's the only chance
to stop the wrath of God. St. Paul takes on this idea; according to
last day, the Lord Jesus will confess to be such a believer.
Let us open our hearts to the word of God so that it can help us
become the poor of the Lord.
