Pierwszy pomazaniec Boży – król Saul, okazał się niewierny. Dlatego Pan
wybiera Dawida, aby rządził Izraelem. Nowy wybraniec w momencie
namaszczenia został napełniony Duchem Bożym. Ten dar jest gwarancją,
że Pan Bóg będzie go prowadził i wspomagał. W Nowym Testamencie
tytuł pomazańca odnosi się do osoby Jezusa, Zbawiciela namaszczonego i
objawionego światu przez Ojca, który posyła Go na ziemię, aby wypełnił
dzieło odkupienia. Święty Jan w dzisiejszej Ewangelii uzasadnia, że
dokonuje się to przez uwolnienie ludzkości od niewoli grzechu, która jest by freeing mankind from the bondage of sin, which is the result of
skutkiem odrzucenia światła wiary. Święty Paweł dodaje, że życie w
świetle Bożym oznacza życie w Kościele, którego Panem jest Chrystus –
światłość świata.
Niech światło wiary przenika do naszych serc za sprawą słowa Bożego,
które teraz Pan do nas kieruje.

W pierwszym czytaniu prorok Ezechiel przedstawia sytuację Izraela na
wygnaniu. Pokonany i rozproszony nie jest w stanie powstać o własnych
siłach. Prorok przekonuje, że powrót do nowego życia jest możliwy, ale
może tego dokonać tylko Pan Bóg. Podobnie w Nowym Testamencie
Duch Boży uzdalnia wierzących do podjęcia nowego sposobu życia. Mocą
tego Ducha dokona się również nasze zmartwychwstanie, czego
zapowiedzią jest wskrzeszenie Łazarza. Święty Paweł powie, że skoro Pan
Bóg udziela Ducha na podstawie wiary w Chrystusa, to Duch ten jest także
Duchem Chrystusa. Dzięki temu Syn Boży mieszka w nas, a my w Nim
teraz i w wieczności.
Przyjmijmy teraz z uwagą słowo Boże do naszych serc.

Sługa Jahwe otrzymuje misję, która wcześniej skierowana była do Izraela.
Ten jednak zniechęcony nie dowierza Panu Bogu i odmawia jej przyjęcia.
Sługa Pana jest zdolny do wypełnienia zadania umacniania strudzonych,
ponieważ codziennie w postawie ucznia słucha słowa Bożego, znosi

King Saul, the first anointed one by God proved unfaithful. That is why
the Lord chooses David to rule Israel. The new chosen one was filled
with the Spirit of God at the moment of anointing. This gift is the
guarantee that God will lead and support him. In the New Testament,
the title anointed refers to Jesus, the Savior who was anointed and
revealed to the world by the Father who sent Him to earth to fulfill the
work of redemption. In today's Gospel, St. John justifies that this is done
rejecting the light of faith. St. Paul adds that life in the light of God
means living in the Church, whose Lord is Christ – the light of the
world.
May the light of faith penetrate into our hearts through the word of God,
which He now directs to us.

April 2, 2017; 5th Sunday of Lent
In the first reading, the prophet Ezekiel illustrates Israel in exile;
defeated and dispersed it is not able to rise up on its own. The Prophet
argues that a return to a new life is possible, but it can be done only by
God. Similarly, in the New Testament God's Spirit empowers believers
to take up a new way of life. Our resurrection will also be brought about
by the power of the Spirit, which is forecasted by the resurrection of
Lazarus. St. Paul will say that since God gives the Spirit based on faith
in Christ, this Spirit is also the Spirit of Christ. As a result, the Son of
God lives in us and we in him now and in eternity.
Let us now with care accept the word of God into our hearts.

The servant of Yahweh accepts a mission that was previously directed to
Israel. He, however, discouraged, does not trust God and refuses to
accept it. A servant of the Lord is able to fulfill the task of strengthening
the weary, because every day as a student, he listens to the word of God,
endures the given suffering, and does not use force against evil, because
he knows that God will confirm his innocence. In a servant, Christians
fidelity until death. The final victory of Christ over death confirms the
suffering is not forgotten. St. Paul also refers to the prophecies of the
Old Testament by saying that the total degradation of the Son of God
was the cause of his exaltation in the glory of the Father.
Now let us focus our thoughts, so we can carefully listen to the word of
the Lord.
